hey gosu this sounds like a reallly good idea. you could get like a small percentage of the dead char's gold and CM and a small xp bonus if u res him/her.

Firstly there will be no CM in 2.0. So im planning that you will get one honor point every 5 prays? Secondly this will make people ressurect the rich only o.O. Third is when the percentage gets too low nobody will save each other and if it gets too high it can be abused.
At level 149 it will be no use o.O

[red]how about when you die you lose massive exp but if you let someone res you by giving them 1 honor point you don't lose any exp. I dont read 2.0 spoliers so is honor point hard to gain? if not then increase more honor point reward for the person that res you.[/red]

Nice idea. No death toll if your team res you would make people res eachother just to be nice. Honor points are from boss fights I think...

Every five prays gives one honor point. If one res from friendly unit gives the friendly unit one honor point it can be abused by using the red command(-kill). The command can be fixed by giving a time to use kill command again. If you got ressurected from praying you dont loose anything and you will revive at the spot where you die o.O. It is really. But if the cap for honor point is 300 i can figure a way how to make it unbugable for this . The exp loss will be 200X ur level. Lets say level 150 and you die without getting a pray you will loose 30K Exp which is a lot. This will make the high levels hav some challenge while training the weaks. Cause high levels have nothing to do. Once the top cant go higher you know o.O. So if you die you loose massive exp o.O. That will be okay. But for a level 1 it will hurt o.O

Do we really need the higher levels to be any harder? This can also stop people tagging along for plvl. (which I hear is impossible but nothings impossible) Your not going to follow a higher level to a harder area if your going to loose exp for doing so.

Well if he/she really doesn't like people to go around with him/her, then you will know that they won't protect you during training or revive you or maybe give you serious crazy items. Sometimes when they are in a hunt for something they have no mood to train you until they get the item.

so lets say a lvl 150 dies and he gets no res. and lets say he looses 30k xp, could he ten b reduced to a lvl 149??? it might incourage more teamplay, and it might make the high lvls more persuaded to help/res the low lvls when they ask for it, cause the low lvls might return the favor.

There is no code for you to delevel. No such thing in warcraft.
Incourage? Or what do you mean was encourage?

I dont understand by this: Please explain it. If what you were saying is that the person that is praying for you can be killed by that certain boss then well it could be a problem. But for hyperions is quite usefull. Cause many people are like whacking him off. o.O Hades erm maybe not. P.S. you can take in pots while praying. What I meant is that if somebody dies such that anybody who wishes to pray for the dead player will be in the aggro radius of a boss that is capable of killing them. If potions are to be the solution, then the potions would have to be quite powerful in order to fix that. Remember, 1.33 is the last of the 1.xx series. Any suggestions have to be directed towards 2.0, which is quite difficult with our limited knowledge of the map.

Well Ive been looking through the spoilers and most of it got revealed. Examples are changing Mats to Honor, new models, new map terrain(o.O), max lvl is 150, new exp requirements to level o.O and etc. So we have just enough info about the map. Well we haven't heard anything about new revivals in 2.0 o.O so this could be the new one XD. Strong potions are no big problem. Anyway nobody will kill and impossible boss as I had said.

This reply has dodged my main point of odd circumstances being a problem, especially since potions will not guarantee survival, no matter how strong they are if the boss is able to kill that person. For example, in this version a level 160 , who is the strongest in that game, kills Gaea, and then 3 level 40s walk into the tuskaars, unaware of the sphinx's existence. The players die, and none are able to revive them because his corpse is guarded by the boss. In this example, potions will not let somebody survive the sphinx's wrath for a prolonged period of time. According to the proposed revival system, the players have to stay dead longer for not being team players when in reality, the players were completely unaware and must pay a heavy penalty for not being an avid forum reader and knowing about the sphinx.

Yes but in 2.0 and (probably future maps) this will change. We've heard about level requirements on certain areas that will stop level 40's walking in to a skeletal death trap like sphinx's new home. So can we assume that no area will be impossible to revive someone by this method?
As with boss fights, if one person whipes then the rest should be able to survive long enough for the other person to be resed. They may not be able to kill it or survive very long but it gives a chance to continue the fight instead of everyone dying once the tank takes a dive.
Another idea is that int classes (who would normally be towards the back and not tanking) will be faster to res than the other classes. Preistess (or other map equivilants) would be the best while the more str oriented classes would take a while. The time taken to res could be related to the amount of int a hero has. The more int, the faster res ability. (Also, the more chance of dying due to low str)
Resurecting outside of the team res shouldn't have to suffer because of it. e.g. If captain smart-ass level 140 is grinding or doing something on his own, he shouldn't have an excessively long res time or have to wait for the rescue party of level 20s to bash through high level mobs to find his dead body. (Which would be impossible with level restrictions on areas)
The new res system should be there to aid in team play by allowing team mates to resurect and support eachother through quests and boss fights. Much similar to the cleric's rebirth or carrying anks but supported by the heros as a team.
Time to res = Normal time - x Exp/Gold loss = Normal exp/gold loss - x Where x = Total (or balanced portion of total) of praying heros int + time (or balanced portion of time) spent praying

(Which would be impossible with level restrictions on areas) What I'm saying is that if for any reason there is a large level gap in the game between 1 person and the rest, then the high level is going to have a very difficult time, as they have have no one to resurrect them if they die trying to make true progress. The boss scenario is an example that odd circumstances can actually make this system work against pick up games and can encourage closed games that only groups of close associates can play.

You are right about the excessive. BUT what I said was MAYBE 5 Mins? This means you can shrink the duration a lil. As long as it is a lil bit more riskier than the death timer before. Maybe the death toll will be higher but death clock will be the same? You seldom see everyone die in the game. Normally people above level 120 can handle waves already. And again i said MAYBE 5 Minutes? So you can make it the same and death toll much worse. Or maybe you get an Honor reward for praying tht dude. Maybe every 5 prays u get one honor point or wat. Though this might be abusing i think... cause red has the command to kill. Unless red needs to wait for some time to kill the person again using the -kill command. If you pray and revive tht person he wont revive at the base. He will revive at the spot where he died instead. If he revives no death toll will occour. Again i said MAYBE 5 Minutes? Same thing as making creeps way harder. Again i said MAYBE 5 Minutes? Damn im tired of saying MAYBE 5 Minutes? The death clock its up to you but atleast make the death more horrible in a way. Like increase of death toll and etc. [white]how about we add a trigger so gosu takes 5 min to revive and the rest of us can hav sumfin decent[/white]
