Just food for thought... Implement the left side hero icons JUST for healer(s)... (cleric/priestess). That way, not everyone is "allied" with everyone and therefore this would reduce the lag. Again... ONLY the cleric/priestess would have their (hopefully) click able ally icons in the left side under their own icon. This would make 16 heroes (correct me if I am wrong) instead of 64 heroes, which, in turn, will reduce lag.

But if we have other support based heroes, don't you think they may need such as well?

[white]i think youll find in a max game with one cleric its 15, going up by sevens up till 64, but only if the game is max players anyway, not too bad[/white] But if we have other support based heroes, don't you think they may need such as well? [white]granted other support heros may need it too also to take into consideration is the fact only like 5 hero boxes fit on screen, less at lower resolutions of course itd have to be toggleable too [/white]

maby you could make the heal spell like a spell book where when you click on heal it makes the box where skills are change to heals that specifically target an individual player? ex: box1 targets heal to player 1 and etc... just a thought

that would be pretty confusing except if the hp shows under it... and even if that is possible, it would probably not refresh... I really think that wouldn't be a good idea... but I don't have a better one to fix the max 5 hero at the left... I just thought it would be hardcoded... but it does make it rather complicated I suppose... (I've never done any JASS, I don't even know what its like)

You may not be able to show the HP on the little menu but you might be able to color code the icons with green being healthy and red critical status so you could just push heal and click on any red icon and it would heal that player. In a long game you'd probably become somewhat familiar with which icon is the tank and generally squishy characters.

[white]hmm maybe its not a max of 5 but it probly depends on your res, people that have to play 640*480 (worst case) shouldnt be disadvantaged if possible
maybe 800*600[/white]

It not the size of the resolution that causes problem, it the warcraft engine, it usually only allows you to see 5 hero icons
