Hi I havent been playing TBR for long, only lvl 85 yet and I really like this mod. None of my friends are playing war3 and playing random games gets boring. The Problem with random games is there is always so big difference in levels and no class balance for party. There will also always be lvl 1 people trying the game and leaving after 5 minutes. Why not make a list with official war 3 TBR channels on each realm on the forum, maybe on the loadscreen? So its possible for random people with no friends to play games with people on the same level and do some endgame with a party with proper setup? for example channel for lvl 1-75, 76-125. 126+.. This will have the same role as LFG channel in WOW. With some kind of setup for getting an ok group together I think this would make this game more popular. Maybe your great minds can find a better way than mine. Just a though. Keep up the good work, impressed of the complexity of this game. Looking forward too see 2.0

[green]you can of course try to search players with the same level like you. You might also join a clan, for example clan tbr on useast, clan tbr on uswest or clan tbr or clan etbr on europe. You can also name your game like "TBR lvl 75" so people know that you are actually searching for people with a level. BUT, what I saw many times and what isn't right in my oppinion, is to kick people being not that level. Because everybody should be able to play tbr, not just the players with a cerent lvl. If people with another level then your gamename level join, it's their decision, and you can't kcik them jsut for not being the right level. That can bring you a ban. Hope I could help you with useful information where to go what to do and what not to do [/green]

To me its seems that is what these clans are about, level requirements and restrictions on who join and plays. It is no fun if you dont have anyone to play with, and maybe you dont want to go so serious you go to clans, you have to apply which may take time, and may even get rejected.
Ofc it depends on what you want with this game. To have it as a game for a few clans or have it as a public game. You get tired of the game quite fast if only playing random games on bnet. If you are not in a clan you dont meet too much people playing the game.

Clan TBR has an 'open door' policy... if you can fit through the door you are welcome there. You can join our clan (or not) and there are no requirements other than you not violate some very simple rules (to support good gamesmanship).
And you will always find games being hosted from there... at sometimes more than others since we are on the East Cost of the US but even in the dead of night (here) you'll find people flocking to the channels to find a group.
Good luck.

Another option to this level problem could be to give a certain "buff" to low level people in a game with high level(s), but a penalty in experience (and item?) gain. This would open possibilities for teamplay but might start a "high level" hunt.

im pretty sure some people would find ways to abuse and exploit such a system.

I guess there will be much higher activity when 2.0 comes. I have just started playing and I guess TBR gaming activity is low nowadays.
Just putting my thoughts on the paper...

I see items get less powerful and role specific (tank/dps/heal). Classes also become more role specific than before. I dont see how this can work for 2.0 in random games when it is so group oriented. And you also need the right classes. What is the fun in playing a game with 8 tanks lvl 1-150? I would guess some way for random people to get a predefined party with good class setup and about even levels would boost this games popularity a lot. This becomes far more important when it becomes so group dependant.

I don't think a level channel is a good idea, because for example, I sometimes (most of the times) look for a hyp run, but theyre isnt enough players high enough online, so what I do is I host for low levels, or mid levels, and such and help them out, or get my new level out, but I don't want to be going around channels deciding which character I use or what average level I want to help, I just help, final so if your looking for games just go in the main channel according to your realm (which are stated above if im not mistaken) anyway, those are my 2 cents about this ^^
