i don't know if it has been added already in 2.0, or if it has been suggested, but i think it would be worthwhile to add a single player mode for those who don't have multiple computers on hand, or decent internet (im in new zealand). to prevent tossers from just playing it in custom and using cheats, you could do the same thing as swat aftermath and have a code canceller, ie disable save and load in single player custom, but being able to still create a lan and play by yourself, load/save, etc to balance it out you could have a 50% penalty to exp gain in single (or whatever). before you flame me about 2.0 being near finish, so its pointless suggesting, it would be a fairly simple piece of coding to add (i think...) and even if it isnt added in 2.0, it could be considered for a possible 2.1.

it's been suggested a number of times already before you. main argument aganist this: TBR is meant to be team-RPG, so I guess it's a no-go suggestion

Single player in 2.0 would be pointless, you would NEVER get anything done. 2.0 is more team oriented.

[green]Really, even if it would allow you to play single player, you would just get killed like 1000 times by playing single player... just no way to survive[/green]

you can survive, its just a bit harder. it might be team oriented, but you can still farm, to a point. higher level titans might be impossible, but you could still level up. and Av3n, im on telecom, no fiberoptic to speak of (tossers).

[orange]FireFly, you don't know, what bosses are like in 2.0. I saw the guide: it's impossible to defeat some of them, if you're alone. Imagine Cerberus, who can instantly eat you, but he CAN be defeated solo, somo bosses of 2.0 - can't.
And if you're talking about dial-up - it's still possible to play WC3 on speed around 40 kbp\s - I've played it, when I had a cr@ppy connection[/orange]

The problem it is long distance, so to match it up is quite hard. That is why most wc3 users from NZ use boardband to play Wc3. FireFly: I use Telstra Clear net. When I used to be on dial-up and used to host Battle Ships all of the time, no one lagged or d/c till then phone rang -Av3n

oh right, i forgot the bosses were changed in 2.0, but still, u could still farm lower levels, no need to take on super powerful team oriented bosses... but another argument 4 the single player, if some1 quits out early, and u dont realise ur the only person, u lose all your progress... believe me i know. or, alternatively, if ur right next to a new level, and ur high up, when some1 quits you generally have to start again... but then, didnt FT fix that in 2.0? recording exp rather than levels? i hope so and im based in hawkes bay, if that isnt the problem then i guess it must be distance, coz im on broadband... telecom still sucks though

Experience saves in 2.0 and also single player is still a no. There are too many cheats for it.

there are a dozen cheats that are available in single player mode that you cant use in multiplayer games...
such as "whosyourdaddy" will make you god...unkillable and one hit kills...people could put that in then go around killing EVERYTHING!!!!! there is also cheats to remove the Fog of war "iseedeadpeople" which would be unfair...
and while there are ways to remove those....it would take too much time/space to be worth it...
and believe me when i say playing by yourself wouldnt be fun at all...you wouldnt level past maybe 15 with out any ease...you wouldnt be able to kill the first titan till you were lvl 75 solo...maybe....and that in and of itself would take weeks by yourself...the game would not be fun...so nobody would play it...
if you want to play some RPG's solo because you have a crappy connection, might i suggest one called "invade the ruins" - its not a save load, but if you are playing single player you can save the old fashion way....and the entire thing takes maybe 3hrs to complete...got like 9 heroes to play with, and each has access to different parts of the map...and in single player, you can control 4 heroes...so that way you wont be gimped by solo

o.O Telecom/Telstra operates in NZ GG to that... Besides there's not much point in a single player war3 rpg might as well go buy a game instead... There are alternative networks which you can play on if internet is an issue (eg Garena which is decent even for 56k in Australia)

[orange]I guess it's time to lock this topic...
And noname is right: singleplayer in games like Sacred 2 would be much funnier, than singleplayer in TBR. It's multiplayer, that makes the diffrence.[/orange]
