Is there any way to prevent a server split when fighting the hydra? I didn't happen the first time my group fought him but every other time after that the same person always gets split out. It just happens to be that he is our tank too, haha. I've read through the bugs/glitches page but I haven't found any answer other than save before hand which we have been doing after the first time it happened.

there is no real way to prevent splits. its totally random, and often caused if there have been memory leaks caused by players prior to the summoning. for instance, if a player is mass crafting alchemy and has left hundreds of pots on the ground, that can cause enough lag to cause a player to disconnect during a summoning or fight, in the cases of hades, sphinx and hydra. only thing i can tell you is, if you intend to kill those, try and keep the map clean, and have as few active areas of the map as possible during the summoning.

Game splits are splits that is not caused bye the map but caused by WCIII itself. So basicly we cant do anything about it.

yeah but ive found through trials that the likelihood of one occuring is significantly higher if theres alot of items left on the ground and multiple areas active at the time of the summoning.

I always use this trick when summonning hydra and works most of the time... dunno if it's random or I'm just lucky... I bring my character out of the ud area after summonning hydra AND moving my screen away from the place. Then i count to like 10 until there's a lag spike and i go fight hydra! Usually works for me =/
