Hi! I'm FatherTime and I run this crazy place. I am just one person and like you’re actual father, you only get one (offer not available in Alabama). So here are a few things to keep in mind when our paths cross.
1) Yes. I can be an a$$hole. Try not to take it personally. I’m sorry but remember this is a hobby. There is way more work involved in this than any of you realize and I don’t get paid a cent to do any of it. Please try to keep that in mind and remember that I am only one person.
2) Since I am only one man I generally delegate most things. This included the ban list, forum issues and maintenance, and the day-to-day running of the 8 TBR clans. I trust my staff implicitly and have faith in each and every one of them to do their jobs competently. You can feel free to raise any issue with them and they will provide you with an answer or point you to the appropriate person to deal with your issue. If they deem any issue needs my attention they know how to get in contact with me.
3) Before you PM me directly take a look around the forums and see if you’re question has been answered. If you can’t find it, keep looking. If you still can’t find it, PM someone else.
4) No you cannot test. No you cannot become a shaman. No you cannot have more access. No, I will not give you anymore information on 2.0 than I've posted on the forums. The people that have these privileges have EARNED them by proving themselves over time. A good example is CoZZa. CoZZa wandered into TBR channel one day and just never left. He proved to be a good host who could be counted on to obey and enforce the rules. He participated in advancing the community, both on Bnet and here on the forums. He paid his dues (and got kicked thousands of times from channel by me and other mods) and put in his time. When one of the TBR clans needed a shaman, he was entrusted with a bit of power. He proved he could handle that power responsibly. Then when we formed a new clan and were in need of another chief I looked around at the possibilities, decided I could trust CoZZa and tapped him to run TBR7. You will get no where by asking, but if you join our ranks and demonstrate you are of good character I assure you someone WILL notice. Until then, enjoy the game!
5) If you do happen to be on my MSN list (for the few of you that are) remember that I'm on there to talk about ISSUES that need my attention and to converse with Av3n and the other contributors to the map. I am NOT on there to chat or answer the question "What's up?" 8,000 times.
6) If I call you an ‘assclown’ don’t take it personally. It’s a sign of affection! Sort of.
If you keep these few simple rules in mind, then you can count on me always being happy and in a ‘sunny’ disposition.
Thank you,
FT
