ok i suspect that theres probably something i dont know about the game mechanics rather than a glitch but im not sure. I have a level 30 cleric and with my aoe nova spell its supposed to do 675 damage. I then have robe and staff of oracle which is supposed to add about +345 damage to that. When I equip the items it definitely does add damage to my spell but when i cast on a goblin with 925 hp he survives with about 100 hp. Thats not including my INT bonus which is about 108. So is this a glitch the items not stacking? or do creatures have spell resistance or something?

These creatures or every unit has a spell reduction of 25% if i remember correctly.

This happens with my mage sometimes too... i cast a frost chain (supposed to do 4500 + 25% + bla bla bla) and it only does 4500... I dont know what causes the +spell damage to go away, but it is very frustrating when it does.

Is it only sometimes or always? If it's all the time it's probably just the spell resistance and not a glitch.

Ontopic: honestly, I never memorize the exact amount of damage mobs receive, they just die and that's all. Maybe Cleric's skill is "bugged" in the same way the Druid's lightning is, or just have typo in skill's description, additional testing needed, but I have no Cleric (and never will have one )

I think there is still the spell reduction through normal armor or am i wrong with this?

There is no reduction by armor for damage from spells (only for the damage typ 'magic') exeption: heroes (hero armor) have a general spell damage resistance (30% - 25% if tbr was made before 1.15)

The divine armor type does provide damage reduction from all sources. I know there's a faq somewhere around here on that.

it's 90% reduction, but Goblins don't have divine armor -.- (thankfully)

But you can edit the dmg bonuses of the types of damage (chaos, piercing, magic etc) in the War3 Editor, therefore affects how it is reduced when up against certain armo(u)r types. Therefore depends on map mechanics?

It is reduced against divine armor because it has a flat 90% damage reduction to everything.

There is a small reduction for every armour class. This is to keep it so that mages don't do full damage to everything.

well i heard a glitch if u kill gaea in fire shift mode it will revive a few minutes and she doesnt attack at all or shift no units spawn so if u kill her in fire mode that it better to have extra XP
